Melinda Renee Matthews-Lauture is from Boston, MA.  She started her singing career at the young age of fifteen.  She was first discovered in 1989 singing on a karaoke machine in a mall.  She and three other young ladies formed a group where they called themselves ESSENCE where she was the lead singer of the group. They performed in many talent shows throughout the Boston and surrounding metropolitan areas.

At the age of seventeen she began working in the music studio on her first CD.  After her CD, she was signed to a record an EP deal with a major record company.  During this time the voice of the Lord began calling her.  She had to make a decision.  The Bible says you can’t serve two masters and her heart yearned for change and to be obedient to God’s will for her life.  So she decided to give her life to the Lord surrendering all and leaving the secular world behind. 

Melinda has been the Praise & Worship leader as well as the head of the music ministry for Greater Anointing Harvest Church in Dorchester, MA for the past 20years.  Her love for God can be felt through the anointing when she sends up a sound of praise and worship unto him through song.

She has been married to her childhood sweetheart, Deacon Charles Lauture for 19 years and has 3 lovely children who all love and serve God, Isaiah, Naomi and Josiah.
